Cover Reveal: BLOOD BOUND

Blood Bound by Keshia Swaim

Starting college a year early is hard. Starting fae college and learning to protect the world from the Unseelie is harder.
Brielle Reed has always been an over-achiever, but this time she may have bitten off more than she can chew. Between her crash course in fae politics, struggles to control her new mind-reading ability, training sessions with the demanding Dr. Schwartz, and discoveries about the father who is still a mystery to her, Brielle finds herself longing for a chance at a normal life.
But she may not get that chance. Or chance at a life at all, for that matter.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blood Bound will be released on the 10th of September 2013, in both paperback and ebook formats. I really like the description for this book, I haven't really read many fae books so this really intrigues me. I will definitely be checking Blood Bound out!

Yes, there are two covers for Blood Bound. And it's up to you to vote for which one you like best!

You can vote here:

Personally, I like the cover on the right best, there's just more to it, but both are great :)
Though I think it would be cool if the covers were combined, with the girl on the front and the hand on the back of the cover, though that is just my personal opinion.

TEMPTING THE PLAYER by J. Lynn

Book Two in the Gamble series
Publication date: October 24th, 2012
Ebook
Date read: October 25th, 2012

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Description source: Goodreads)

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After reading Tempting the Best Man, I honestly didn't think Jen's books could get much sexier, I mean, seriously, sexier than Chase, who'd have thought it possible? Well, mission accomplished J. Lynn (aka Jennnifer L. Armentrout), you gave us Chad!

Chad is an incredibly well-known player, and not only for baseball. There are pictures left, right and centre of Chad with all manners of women, and his management have given him an ultimatum: clean up his act or lose his contract.
Bridget Rogers is best friends with and works for Madison Daniels, she also knows Chase Gamble (Maddie's boyfriend) and by extension, his brother Chad. Bridget runs into Chad at a club and things go well, until Bridget remembers exactly how much of a player he is, but he seems to be inescapable and they are caught in a compromising position.
Chad's new publicist knows she has her work cut out for her when it comes to redeeming Chad's public image, so when the Bridget situation arises, well, it seems like a perfect plan.
Bridget is blackmailed into being Chad's fake girlfriend, the key word being 'fake,' they may think they have to work hard to be convincing, but it's actually keeping their hands off of each other that they'll really have to work at.

The storyline for Tempting the Player is great, it captivates and entices you to read page after page until the entire ebook is finished, you can't simply stop part way through. This novel is definitely steamier and a lot sexier than before, I cannot wait for Tempting the Bodyguard (Gamble Brothers Book Three) to come out, you get an idea of what it will include from what happened in this book, and it sounds simply awesome.

The character dynamics really work well, tying this novel to both book one and book three. Bridget is strong, confident in her way and definitely not a stereotype. Chad is sexy and demanding, he loves to get what he wants and is slightly misunderstood by those who know of his public image.

Tempting the Player was the perfect sequel for Tempting the Best Man, taking the trilogy to whole new level, making my expectations for Tempting the Bodyguard very high, though I have no doubt that they will easily be met.

“Bridget did the only thing she could do in this situation that wouldn't end with her doing a life stint in prison. She flipped the woman off.
With both hands.”

I rate Tempting the Player Five of out Five!

Waiting on Wednesday! (#9)

This is a weekly meme 'Waiting on Wednesday' that I take part in, it is hosted by Breaking the Spine
It is a meme where you post about a yet-to-be-released book that you are looking forward to reading. Here is a book I have been highly anticipating:

Frost Burned (Mercedes Thompson #7) by Patricia Briggs

Expected Publication Date:March 5th, 2013
Numbe of Pages: 352

(Decsription from Goodreads)

Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.
Mercy Thompson’s life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy’s life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more…

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can’t reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They’ve all been abducted.
Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam’s disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from the most unlikely of allies: the vampire seethe.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love the Mercy Thompson series, Mercy is such a strong lead and Adam is incredibly sexy, this series is action packed and completely awesome, I can't wait to read Frost Burned!

Waiting on Wednesday! (#8)

This is a weekly meme 'Waiting on Wednesday' that I take part in, it is hosted by Breaking the Spine

It is a meme where you post about a yet-to-be-released book that you are looking forward to reading. Here is a book I have been highly anticipating:

Opal (Lux #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Expected Publication date: December 11th, 2012
Number of Pages: 452

(Description from Goodreads)

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am so unbelievably excited and impatient to read this book, I am dying to get my hands on Opal.
After the ending of Onyx, I am desperate, I need it!
If you haven't started the Lux series then I highly recommend you start it as soon as possible!

Cover Reveal: THE DOLLHOUSE ASYLUM

The Dollhouse Asylum by Mary Gray

A virus that had once been contained has returned, and soon no place will be left untouched by its destruction. But when seventeen-year-old Cheyenne wakes up in Elysian Fields--a subdivision cut off from the world and its monster-creating virus--she is thrilled to have a chance at survival.
At first, Elysian Fields, with its beautiful houses and manicured lawns, is perfect. Teo Richardson, the older man who stole Cheyenne's heart, built it so they could be together. But when Teo tells Cheyenne there are tests that she and seven other couples must pass to be worthy of salvation, Cheyenne begins to question the perfection of his world.
The people they were before are gone. Cheyenne is now "Persephone," and each couple has been re-named to reflect the most tragic romances ever told. Everyone is fighting to pass the test, to remain in Elysian Fields. Teo dresses them up, tells them when to move and how to act, and in order to pass the test, they must play along.
If they play it right, then they'll be safe.
But if they play it wrong, they'll die.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dollhouse Asylum will be published by Spencer Hill Press in both paperback and ebook formats on the 22nd of October 2013.

How so completely incredible does this book sound?!
It sounds a bit like it will have at least some mythology in it and as though it is a dystopian thriller, each of them are all things that I love! in a book, and combined...  well let's just say this book now has a definite place on my to-read list :)

The cover of The Dollhouse Asylum is cool in such a creepy way and seems to fit the description of this book really well; to me it looks like perfection crumbling, falling apart.

Anyways, what's your opinion on the description? The cover?
Let me know in the comments!

Mind Games (Mind Games #1) by Kiersten White
Expected Publication Date: February 19th, 2013

Trapped in a school that uses girls with extraordinary powers as tools for corporate espionage, Annie and Fia are forced to choose over and over between using their abilities in twisted, unthinkable ways… or risking each other’s lives by refusing to obey.

It is a meme where you post about a yet-to-be-released book that you are looking forward to reading. Here is a book I have been highly anticipating:

Bitter Blood (Morganville Vampires #13) by Rachel Caine

Publication date: October 24th, 2012
Number of Pages: 544

Description (from Goodreads):

The brand-new Morganville Vampires novel from bestselling author Rachel Caine . . .

Thanks to the eradication of the parasitic creatures known as the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town’s human population is determined to hold on to their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn’t about to take sides, considering she has ties to both the humans and the vampires.

To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide. Now, Claire and her friends have to figure out how to keep the peace without ending up on the nightly news… or worse.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I absolutely LOVE the Morganville Vampires series, I cannot get enough of it! Bitter Blood sounds so intriguing and I just know it will be every bit as brilliant as each of the other books in the series.
Rachel Caine is one of my favourite authors and I highly recommend this series!

A SACRED OATH

A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hush, Hush is a hilariously captivating read full of sly innuendos delivered by an incredibly sexy guy, and full of mystery that will leave you guessing as to what will happen next.

Nora is a nice girl just trying to get through school with good grades and spend time with her best friend Vee, but when Patch comes along, he's intent on stirring up Nora's life. He's sexy, arrogant and laced with danger, and in Nora's words: Patch wasn't the kind of guy mothers smiled on. He was the kind of guy they changed the house locks for.” Patch is beyond mysterious and Nora would love to find out whatever his hidden agenda is.

Vee is so, so, so funny, some of the lines she delivers with have you almost in hysterics and her relation with Nora is so realistic and so well depicted, they are exactly what best friends should be.

Hush, Hush is incredibly original in both story line and character motives. There are plenty of dark, terrifying scenes that will leave you wide-eyed. the darkness and intrigue in this novel is perfectly balanced by moments that sexy as hell, damn funny or full of amazing dialogue that just never feels forced what-so-ever.

This book had me addicted from the get-go! With compelling banter and twisting plots that are forever thickening, this book contains edge-of-your-seat material and will have you remembering what happens for a long while after you've turned the last page and definitely wanting to relive so many of the different moments all throughout!

“Before I forget, here's your homework. Where do you want me to put it?"

She pointed at the trash can. "Right there would be fine.”

I rate Hush Hush Five out of Five!
